Dr. Eric Sloane is a Seeker, a human soul in search of enlightenment. Like Wanderers, they are reincarnated souls. Unlike their troubled relatives, however, Seekers are not bound to a single human bloodline, nor are they prone to troubled lives and sudden deaths. Passing through life, they live multiple lifetimes in a quest not only to draw nearer to eternal bliss, but to pass their knowledge and inner peace on to those who walk among the living.
The passage of lifetimes is determined by the spirituality of the soul, and Eric Sloane has, in all his lifetimes, been a devotee of the Cult of Elpis. He has lived twice before, both times reaching the splendor of the Elysian Fields in judgment. Now on his third lifetime, his actions now will determine his ascension to the next level of Heaven: the Isle of the Blessed. Cursed with his most difficult life yet, Eric has seen just about everything: raised in a troubled home, done time as a youth, and is now locked in a fierce battle to get his life back on track.
Currently, Eric is bearing the double burden of finishing his residency under Dr. Tucker Rivers, an avatar and one of his personal gods, and working towards becoming a member of the Elpian priesthood.
